FUTURE POTENTIAL – NEW AIRPORT 

Work on a new international airport is set to begin in 2027. This airport is slated to become Costa Rica’s third gateway international airport. The two current airports – in San José and Liberia – are in the northern part of the nation necessitating a 6-7 hour plus road trip into the Corcovado area. The new airport will serve the high-demand southern part of the country – likely leading to a tourism and development boom.
